Nestled in the Soundview section of South Bronx, PS 69 Journey Prep , stands as a beacon of pride for this community . PS 69 has enjoyed a long history of academic success. A school in Good Standing with New York State, it is among the top elementary schools in New York State. P.S . 69 has been the recipient of an “A” rating on the Progress Report for the past five consecutive years, placing it in the top 20% of elementary schools in New York City.

The mission of P.S. 69 is to serve all students in a nurturing and academically rigorous environment. It is a place where we validate , affirm, build and bridge to ensure all our scholars succeed regardless of their identity markers . With this premise at heart, w e create a student-teacher-parent connection because we believe it is the simplest and most effective way of providing guidance and support to all our s cholars . Our primary goal is to prepare our students intellectually, culturally, and socially for entry into middle school , college and life while discovering the myriad of talents and skills they possess . The goal for our scholars is t hat they become independent learners that understand the value of challenging work and develop a love for learning . We believe in afford ing every child the opportunity & Freedom to SOAR .”
